Westwood Village was built in the 1930-1940's as an urban small town to support the University of California at Los Angeles. To provide needed housing in this setting was very rewarding especially since the ground floors along Glendon Ave. are retail, providing essential local services. The architecture is inspired by the Westwood Village Design Guideline in a Spanish Mediterranean Style.
